Fish Tiles

To keep myself in painting “shape,” I drew inspiration from a small fish pond I encountered while in San Francisco . The painting focuses on different ways of looking at the fish pond. Sometimes the fish are on top of tiles and sometimes they are split by the tiles. Every different form of the painting was looked at as its own layer, for instance the reflection of the trees, the fish, the tiles etc… Then I played with the different layers by giving them unnatural relativity to each other. This painting was also fun and challenging to paint because I used colors that are usually not dominant in my painting pallet.
